Synopsis: Professional game designer #RockyDeSantos is currently working on a new game design but is having a creative block. He spends many countless days & nights trying to work on the project with little success.<br />
<br />
One evening as he drifts off to sleep he is suddenly awakened by the arrival of a mysterious cube on his desk. Immediately curious he tries to figure out how it got there and what is it’s origin. After studying it finally “awakens” to a holographic message from Zordon, a mysterious figure who explains to him that he’s been chosen for a special mission to save Earth, find a intergalactic space gem called the ZEO crystal and help find suitable team members to form the Power Rangers.<br />

<br />
Truly shocked and skeptical, Rocky wants to know why he has been chosen and if any of this is truly real. Zordon explains that all will be revealed in due time. First, he must find the red ranger tyranno power coin which has been hidden in a secret location in a nearby city called Pleasant Grove, TX. He looks up the coordinates and travels to the city and find it as Zordon said he would. Next mission, retrieve the Power Morpher. It’s an artifact that’s been kept on display at a museum. Before setting off Zordon beams to him a communicator device to allow him to contact him when using the cube was impractical out in public.<br />

<br />
He travels and has to find a way to take the artifact. Motivated by duty but guarded by not wanting to commit a crime he struggles with deciding to break in and retrieve it. He finally decides it’s too risky and he will not proceed. This too was a test from Zordon to ensure he was trustworthy and capable of making critical decisions. The Power Morpher is then beamed to him by Zordon‘ assistant Alpha 5. At first Rocky can’t understand the robot so he exclaims “Ay ay ay Zordon, what’s with your assistant?” To this the robot adjusts its communication controls and repeats the first part of the line in a synthesized voice. Alpha explains to him how to use the Morpher and he should only use it when the time is right.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu6HqFPgIMb/?igshid=1y0dji64rc94f">https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu6HqFPgIMb/?igshid=1y0dji64rc94f</a><br />
<br />
Overwhelmed Rocky loves the idea of having a super suit but doesn’t think he has what it takes to be a superhero. Zordon assures him, his heart and wise decision making are his greatest assets and that when needed “the power will protect you”. Alpha interrupts with a SOS message that the shape-shifting robots from the machine empire are attacking innocent citizens. And he’s off for his first mission. Zordon beams him off he successfully starts to get the upper hand in the battle. Soon it all becomes too much to do without help. Zordon talks to him through his communicator to Morph. Rocky listens and does as instructed and is instantly morphed into the Red Ranger. He finds he has been enriched with power, agility and skill through the Morphin grid.<br />

<br />
After the battle Rocky removes his helmet and talks to Zordon once again about what is to come. He explains he must find the rest of the team who can carry the power and responsibility of the power coins. Rocky mentions he keeps his circle small but there’s one person he knows he can trust the most — his cousin Aisha.<br />

No one is rejoicing in this observation but it looks like recently fired co-host of Fox's "The Real" Tamar Braxton has dropped the suffix "HER" as in her marital name "Herbert" from her social media screen name. This is especially interesting because the singer stated that she would be taking a long hiatus from social media to reflect and this is the first update she made just a few days after making that post. Let's hope for the best in this developing story. We will be watching... 👀☕️</div>

<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l2J7jOJFtpg/VhWAva3VGAI/AAAAAAAAA3I/lEjowcyuFW8/s640/blogger-image-1784337789.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l2J7jOJFtpg/VhWAva3VGAI/AAAAAAAAA3I/lEjowcyuFW8/s320/blogger-image-1784337789.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While there have been a few hit and misses with the Lifetime Movie biopics, namely the disaster of the casting and writing for the Aaliyah movie, but the rave reviews of the Whitney Houston biography starring Yaya Decosta, as a fan I am most certainly looking forward to the upcoming Toni Braxton biopic. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There have been reports that the Grammy award winning megastar is ready to portray herself, however I feel to truly get the most out of this movie we need to allow this story to have its due diligence by having the lead role portrayed by a seasoned actress who can physically embody the evolution of from Toni's humble beginnings in Severn, Maryland to modern day. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Serving as the executive producer, Ms. Braxton will be no stranger to the casting process, final review of the script and the production but does portraying yourself in your own biography truly tells your story in the best way? Well, a popular Lifetime movie fan favorite was the Fantasia Barrino story, with the singer portraying herself. In this instance it worked, but it's good to note that Barrino was telling only the prior 5 years of her life. Her biography was told for the specific chronicling of her compelling rise to stardom within a few years, so it was fitting that she played herself. But the Toni Braxton story is far more complex. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In order for audiences to understand the woman and artist that Toni Braxton is now, you have to go back at least 30 years into her childhood, teen years and young womanhood. In order to do that, we need an actress who can morph from a teenager to young adult seamlessly and who better than the fresh faced Keke Palmer who can still pull off a mature sensuality that Ms. Braxton is known for. Keke definitely has the acting chops, her believability was proven playing Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas in CraxySexyCool: The TLC Story and she is no stranger to the Lifetime movie family playing the dramatic role of Carlina White in Abducted: The Carlina White story. My vote is for Keke or another suitable actress to take on the lead role, though Toni herself is a capable actress also starring in several movie roles, including a recent Lifetime movie. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Time will only tell the final decision but I'm still with my gut on this one, let a trained actress do this Toni, you will be there along the way to coach her to success much like Tina Turner did for Angela Basset's Oscar nominated performance in the biography, "What's Love Got to Do With It?" which was an impressive victory because the actresses does not resemble the singer but was able to copy her mannerisms and convey the story theatrically. I project the same could happen with Palmer or another gifted actress.</div>

<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-X8TFGrWHWrw/VhFvKoPiJ5I/AAAAAAAAA2w/CyxuW_GDR1o/s640/blogger-image-1753750719.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-X8TFGrWHWrw/VhFvKoPiJ5I/AAAAAAAAA2w/CyxuW_GDR1o/s400/blogger-image-1753750719.jpg" width="362" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With only two episodes into their second season, many fans and critics alike are saying that Fox's mega hit series "Empire" may not have the staying power they thought at first. Some are complaining that the season took too long to return, while others complain that the storylines have drug on for far too long without any real resolution. But that is to be expected, it's the nature of television sitcom design, you have to keep the audience wanting more so they keep tuning in once they become invested in the characters. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last seasons cliffhanger saw main protagonist Lucious Lyon played by Terrance Howard being carted off to jail for the murder of his friend and his ex-wife Cookie Lyon's cousin named Bunkie. With that it meant one of the three Lyon brothers would have to take over the presiding role of the Empire Records company board of trustees for their father. We all know now, <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lucious</span> surprised everyone by choosing once at odd offspring Jamal to take over in his absence. As the new season opens we see the once mild-tempered Jamal has become power happy, almost to the point of emulating his father, in a bad way, much the chagrin of his mother Cookie, and the added disdain of his brothers rapper Hakeem and record executive Andre. The three scorned Lyons now devise a plan to devise a hostile takeover of the company but it fails miserably when Jamal secretly discovers their plan and alerts <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lucious</span> who is still acting as a managing Svengali from prison. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Episode two we see Cookie, played by Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson and her sons planning to compete with Empire Records by opening up their own company aptly called Lyon Dynasty, but without the funding and the power they need from <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lucious'</span> brand and name their efforts seem futile. We did get to see some interesting highlights such as <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lucious'</span> shifty lawyer organizing a studio to record music, Luscious performing rap vocals reminiscent of the Hustle and Flow era that first connected him to Henson and made both popular household names. There was also a brief <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">flashback of </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lucious</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> and his mother played by Grammy award-winning superstar Kelly Rowland while arguing with his eldest son Andre during a prison visit. It greatly implies that </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lucious</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> was loved by his mother but she may have been plagued with mental illness which could be the reason why he and Andre, who also suffers from mental illness are always disagreeing and having personal issues with trust; something that I'm sure episode three of the rest of the season will delve into even deeper. So that's it Luscious has "mommy issues", and it clearly shows. Don't forget to tune into Fox Wednesday's 9/8 central</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> for the next episode of the highly anticipated second season of Empire.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">Chris Brown and Tyga also performed a medley of current hits. I was a bit thrown off by Chris' overdubbing and lip syncing which for me throws off the overall package of the performance. Either sing or lip synch and be done with it. Of course the dancing was on point and all the female audience members were happy. Though introduced first, Tyga was really nothing more than a bonfire hype man. Another awkward moment was the inclusion of Omarion but no Jhene Aiko for "Post to Be". Even weirder the cameraman panning to Rihanna singing along to Jhene's voice in the audience.</span></div>

<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">A special highlight was the Music Matters feature of new artist Avery Wilson, popular on Vine and other social media platforms for his covers and he's also a former American Idol contestant by he didn't advance far in the competition. He's now being mentored by music legend Clive Davis.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">The running gag with Rihanna continued as she hilariously bound and gagged Floyd Mayweather Jr. as he sat next to transgenders B. Scott and Laverne Cox. The Weekend performed... And that's all I have to mention. Total snooze fest -- even the special guest feature of Alicia Keys did nothing for me. Sadly the highly awarded singer did not rise to the occasion and her vocal prowess needs coaching.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">I was excited for the 20 year Bad Boy Entertainment anniversary performance. Daddy definitely still has it! He stays in his lane and just does classic Puff. Though we saw features from Mase, 112, the Lox, French Montana, Lil Kim and Pharreal the clear star and stand out performer is STILL Diddy, who doesn't miss a step, but maybe a line here and there which was hilariously shades by Brandy mouthing "sing yo line Puff!" from the audience.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<span style="color: orange;">Speaking of dancing newcomer Silento had an impromptu performance of his popular song "Watch Me" with hosts Anthony and Tracee performing with their TV children from the show Blackish.</span></div>

<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">The true highlight of the show was the Smokey Robinson tribute. With a stirring outage of his history relayed by Berry Gordy, Aretha Franklin, Janelle Monae and John Legend. Performances included newcomer Tori Kelly soulful performance of Whose Loving You", Robin Thicke's vocalist mirroring of "Oooh Baby Baby" oh so smoothly and Neyo's modern take on "Tears of a Clown". As far as the 75 year old legend, who has been in the industry for over 60 years still looks springy and a mere 50 years old. He recanted his graciousness for his many blessing and triumphs so humbly and beautifully in his acceptance speech/prayer. The key moment was his admonition to all entertainers to be grateful for their accomplishments and to stop being haughty and full of themselves, which garnered a standing ovation. The best part though had to be the legend himself crooning his hits "Tracks of My Tears", "Crusin" & "My Girl" just as clearly and full as the original recordings.</span></div>

<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">On with the show Meek Mill lit up the stage with Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown for their new single "All Eyes on You". The musical stars of Empire -- Yazz, Jussie Smollet and Soraya had a great medley of their soundtrack hits with a cameo from Juicy J. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">As far as this years tributes -- one <span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">of the sheer highlights for me was Anthony Hamilton's rendition of "The Thrill is Gone" in tribute to the late B. B. King.</span> This years Humanitarian award went to Tom Joyner for he and his foundations philanthropic work to raise money and awareness for HBCU's and its students. The Janet tribute was... cute. I understand Janet is a dance legend but no attempts at singing her songs was pointless to me. Tinashe has come along way, she did her best. Jason Derulo definitely has the skills and Ciara did her best Janet interpretation down to the Jackson leg bounce.</span></div>

<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">I was impressed to see long time rivals K. Michelle and Tamar Braxton sing out their current singles "Hard to Do" & "If I Don't Have You" and publicly apologize and forgive each other. Special highlight was them coming together to sing with the legendary Patti LaBelle on "If Only You Knew" and later embraced and walked off stage together smiling and chatting. I'm so proud!</span></div>

<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">We finally found out what the Rihanna teases were for as she treated us to a trailer for her music video BBHMM (Bitch Betta Have My Money) were she apparently kidnaps someone as the video faded away.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(130, 98, 83, 0.0980392); color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">We also saw a brief performance by Best New Artist nominee Fetty Wap in the final stretch of the show. The show ended rather anticlimactically with a brief commercial interlude a 45 second goodbye by Anthony and Tracee. All in all, the 4 hour award show had its ups and downs, but it was definitely entertaining!</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: orange;"><br></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: orange;">(Photo Source: www.BET.com)</span></div>

<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-dGGICo33-qw/VL6_vtf8W_I/AAAAAAAAA1U/BgKtgsfu_Tc/s640/blogger-image--807277151.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-dGGICo33-qw/VL6_vtf8W_I/AAAAAAAAA1U/BgKtgsfu_Tc/s200/blogger-image--807277151.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"...it's not right, but it's OKAY!" Those were the imperious words sung by "The Voice" Whitney Houston. The term "mixed emotions" is often used to convey the thoughts I have in mind, but a more accurate statement would describe them as "conflicting". On paper the Lifetime movie "Whitney" was a good story, it answered and revealed some elements of Whitney's infamous life but it mainly focused on her relationship with husband Bobby Brown. But did it serve what we as an audience was looking for? Simply, the answer is... No. The movie should have been called "I Will Always Love You: The Whitney & Bobby Love Story" rather than being billed as a true biopic.</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The movie spanned approximately 5 years of her life right around the height of her career during "The Bodyguard" era, starting from when she met Bobby at the Soul Train Awards till shortly after the mega tour to promote the music for her first leading role as Rachel Marin along with Kevin Costner in the classic "The Bodyguard". What the movie was able to accomplish was depicting the alleged drug use and attempting to answer rumors of who truly was the addict in the relationship - *spoiler alert* it was alleged that it was Whitney who introduced cocaine onto Bobby, though other interviews, including ones from her own brother already have proven she started on drugs in her early years before she was even famous or meeting Brown which was later in her life.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However what the movie failed to do was give us Whitney herself. She was known for being regal, a people's princess and being very articulate in the public eye, but Whitney was a really a homegirl from New Jersey whose behind the scenes persona was more laid back and rowdy. We didn't get a chance to see that versatility in Yaya Dacosta's portrayal, more of a hodge podge of dramatics and inexperienced acting. We can applaud the production for their physical casting, the likenesses of Whitney, Clive Davis and Cissy Houston were uncanny but the quality of acting from many of the key players just was not there. The breakout star was indeed Arlen Escarpeta with his portrayal of Bobby Brown who was able to capture both his bad boy persona and boyish vulnerability, in addition to his raunchy on stage presence<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">. But the real star was </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Deborah Cox's singing voice dubbing for Whitney throughout the movie. Deborah is a rare talent and its a shame that her music career hasn't surpassed far beyond what she's already accomplished. She soared through every ballad like a warm knife through chilled </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">butter. Smooth and silky, not trying but easily exceeding as if she herself was meat to sing the reknowed songs. No one can truly emulate Whitney in due justice but she did near best renditions of all the songs -- I really wish they released them for download.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The movie was neither a hit nor a miss, it's like one of those meals you eat, it's pleasant but doesn't nessecarily satisfy your hunger. I felt like this Lifetime movie was a prelude to the REAL film, serving as an introduction to the real biography, preparing us in a sense for something grander to come. I applaud the effort of director Angela Bassett, she succeeded in attempting to execute the dream to the best of her ability but not quite the full vision. We indeed will always love Whitney, nothing will ever be good enough to capture all that she meant to people worldwide. She wasn't just a singer or an actress or her many other titles, but she was indeed a national treasure. We may be quick to criticize bodies of work that are supposed to be done in her honor, but for our queen of the night, she deserved the best. In life and in tragedy, we shall indeed love her better after death.</div>

Tamar Braxton-Herbert Gets You Together on Facebook!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Known for her outspoken nature, singer, reality TV star and talk show host, Tamar Braxton-Herbert leaves no issue untouched -- or shall we say uncommented or replied to. Today she promoted a clip from the upcoming season of WEtv's #1 show - "Braxton Family Values" with the caption "#dontdoit" in reference to those who try to "come for" her super fans known as the Tamartians. And of course, I had to chime in to make the bluntly real statement that Tamar's fans are in fact rather rude just like the favorite star.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well Tamar was not be undone and unheard. She quickly retorted with her signature line "#liesyoutell" and a "lol". It's all in good fun and it seem as if she got the joke. I was prudent enough to mention I do have love for her, so, with a slight hint of shade - remember we're in "shade anonymous". As a Tamar supporter, this wasn't a trolling comment and it seems her fans recognized the subtle truth in their comedic replies as well. Well there you have it folks, the awkward moment when your girl and my new homegirl, and I can say that because she replied to ME lol, get you on together. Point blank period. And be sure to check out the latest Braxton family drama and laughter coming soon with the premiere of "Braxton Family Values" on WEtv August 14th! And if you haven't done so already, be sure to pick up your legal copy of "Love and War" and retailers in stores now and online! I bought the hard copy of the CD so I could get my life to all the pics and the liner notes -- I'm so old school with it!</div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7ajzAngP-I8/U9J45FdKCDI/AAAAAAAAA0w/oo3gicrtNms/s1600/ontherun.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7ajzAngP-I8/U9J45FdKCDI/AAAAAAAAA0w/oo3gicrtNms/s1600/ontherun.png" height="235" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Despite having the #1 concert tour of the year, it appears Beyonce and Jay-Z rang into a few snags during the Dallas leg of their hit "On the Run" tour. My insider source had a lot to say about the duo and the fans response shows they clearly were not happy with what they paid for! The night begun with the tour starting over an hour late, after 9:00 PM and disgruntled fans were already beginning to leave by 10:15! That is a shocker, as you may know, many have had to go to extraordinary measures to pay for tickets that reached into multiple hundreds up to over $1000 for tickets. Some of them have forgone paying certain bills to be able to afford the astronomically high ticket prices for the concert, so they clearly were upset to just up and leave in protest. This I do know for myself, I checked ticket prices and even the "nosebleed seats" were still going for roughly $150. I did find seats that were literally on the roof, sitting on the highest railing of the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home to the Dallas Cowboys and they were still $65! That's just ridiculous! We all love Beyonce, we enjoy Jay-Z but no man or woman is worth all of that hype!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
My insider, who I must also mention is also a Beyonce fan, something we have in common, they revealed that the duo made the decision to not pay for the additional fee to have their performances shown on the stadiums Jumbo-tron which caused an uproar with fans. According to the insider, stadium management told employees to tell customers that this was a "production decision". As revealed by the insider the Jumbo-tron is not included in the stadium rental and is a separate maintenance cost and was not chosen by the executive management of the Carters. It was commented the reason behind this may have been so that fans could not see up close the amount of lynching that was done in that day's performance. The stadium was also rather empty selling less than 45,000 tickets (less than even less popular acts like the Jonas Brothers) even though the stadium actually has 80,000 seats and can hold up to 105,000 people including standing room for General Admission. Imagine that -- literally HALF the stadium was empty! Well, there you have it! Dallas clearly was not checking for Beyonce or Jay-Z this week, maybe the next leg of the tour will have better ticket sales and reports from fans and concert promoters! We still love the Carters but somethings gotta give!</div>

The "BFV" and "Marriage Boot Camp" star is definitely "breaking out"...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fAjTOaDakHc/U8TQSNZXwiI/AAAAAAAAA0c/Vx58sbLY60A/s1600/IMG_2527.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fAjTOaDakHc/U8TQSNZXwiI/AAAAAAAAA0c/Vx58sbLY60A/s1600/IMG_2527.PNG" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hey ya'll! I am happy to be one of the first to review WEtv reality star Traci Braxton's new single "Last Call". If you are a fan of "Braxton Family Values" then this not exactly new to you. On the show, it chronicled Traci's struggle to record her music, finding the approval of her sisters (in particular superstar big sister Toni Braxton) and honing in on finding her voice. Well, I do believe she has succeeded! In the words of her little sister and breakout music star Tamar Braxton -- "She won"!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It seems that the Braxton sisters have been fighting the industry curse of being the younger siblings of a legend for over two decades! With a few notable but unsuccessful attempts, the sisters have tried their mightiness, though being super talented and unfortunate have failed until recently with new found success and exposure through their hit reality show. Traci has been the most vocal in breaking out of the box of being known as "Toni Braxton's little sister" and has voiced her desire to sing. Though her family may not have believed she would stick with it, put in the work and give it valiant effort, she has proved all naysayers wrong.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Last Call" is a surprisingly a very sensual classic R&B record, with an 80's, early 90's throwback vibe while still being very contemporary in today's demographic of Pop and crossover Hip-Hop\R&B that seems to reign the charts. Traci is heard pouring out to her lover that it is her last call to keep asking for what she desires in their relationship and she does so with vocal ease. Her sound is surprising not as heavily Braxton influenced as expected. We all know the sisters sound amazing together in their 5-part harmony, but that familiar Braxton sound is not overly present -- she isn't trying to sound like famous sisters Toni or Tamar, but allowing her own inner diva to shine. The target audience of this song definitely seems suited for an over 25 crowd; it has a nice Adult Contemporary flair without being somber, it's fresh enough to still be played on Top 40 radio stations and your favorite Quiet Storm station.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While there was many things I loved from this song, there is only point of criticism that I have to offer -- the overt use of auto-tune throughout the song. As a fan of "Braxton Family Values" we all know Traci can in fact really sing, she has a very strong contralto voice that has the ability to soar and stand out even in group harmonies. The musical style of the song "Last Call" purposely uses reverb to match the vocals to the electronic R&B beat, it makes sense, it sounds great but from a marketing perspective I think that it could hurt Traci's exposure, especially with this being her first single. To an untrained ear, the use of reverb, which is used primarily throughout the verses and chorus, would allude to much needed vocal correction like many singers of today who are more breathy and nasally than actually vocalists, but Traci doesn't need auto-tune to sound great. Her natural voice does however shine throughout her adlibs, pre-chorus' and the songs bridge which seems to be less studio enhanced and allows the listener to truly hear her vocal ability without distortion.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I grade this song with a B- for it's strong debut, pleasant vocals and overall listenability. Be sure to download your copy today from legal music retailers today! I downloaded my copy from Itunes for a well worth it $1.29. I am definitely looking forward to hear more from Traci in the near future. Until then be sure to catch her on the current season of WEtv's "Marriage Boot Camp" and the new season of BFV coming in August!</div>

<span style="background-color: yellow;"><span style="color: purple;">ORIGINAL ARTICLE</span></span>: Atlanta's home-girl Porsha Williams formerly Porsha Stewart of The Real Housewives Atlanta has struck again! Still reeling from the infamous "underground railroad" debacle, she's making headlines again due to a recent Instagram post. I'm starting to believe she's doing this on purpose now, is this her gimmick? She's just your typical beautiful bimbo but she means no harm! She's just as sweet as she can be, but this girl said STUARTIST instead of STEWARDESS! Rickey Smiley please come get yo girl! I can't deal.<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PFmK8t9Q9G4/U7cQsQ7nDZI/AAAAAAAAAzY/STtSbcO-psk/s1600/IMG_2310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PFmK8t9Q9G4/U7cQsQ7nDZI/AAAAAAAAAzY/STtSbcO-psk/s1600/IMG_2310.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. "Made up Words" </b>-- I dunno who gave people the creative literary license but it seems like 2014 is full of popular sayings and made up words. Examples -- <b><u><i>ratchet, THOT, the Nae Nae, yeet, baddies</i></u></b>, etc. So can someone please explain to me why has it become so popular and accepted to be ghetto -- I thought that's what you rise FROM? Maya Angelou did not die in vain for this. *deep sigh*</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. "Blue Ivy's Hair"</b> -- I don't know what's worse the fact that I agree that <b><i><u>Blue Ivy </u></i></b>needs some Blue Duchess hair grease and a stiff brush, the fact there was actual online petition for <b><i><u>Beyoncé </u></i></b>(or Blue's personal hairdresser) to finally comb her knotted roots OR the fact that the petition actually worked and little Miss Carter has been rocking tamer natural hairdos ever since. And they said celebrities don't read the blogs! Mmhmm...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. "Deeming this Generation as Icons or Legends"</b> -- it used to be so that a legend was someone who had a lengthy maybe 25 plus career with undeniable impact and a trail of success. Now it seems popularity without proper credentials is deeming everyone legendary or iconic. Case in point, the <b><i><u>American Music Awards</u></i></b> naming <b><i><u>Rihanna</u></i></b> an icon, people suggesting that new generation stars like <b style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;">Chris Brown</b> and <b style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;">Justin Timberlake</b> are suitable replacements for <u style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">Michael Jackson's</u> legacy and let's not even get me started on <b style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;">Kim Kardashian</b>. I have love for Chris, I think he is an amazing dancer and performer and has a great studio voice, but lip-syncing or shall we say really BAD (catch the Michael reference?) lip-syncing really shows he is not on legendary status -- case in point his two <b>2014 BET Awards</b> performances, just really mediocre at best vocally.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. "Ridiculous Reality Shows & their So-called Stars"</b> -- now I love reality about as much as the next reasonable viewer but the plethora of needless reality shows is reason enough why I bypass certain cable stations. There's only so many spin offs, wedding specials and one night only returns (<b><i><u>Kate PLUS Eight</u></i></b>) we can handle. It's to the point I feel people are just getting married, divorced and remarried just for the sake of having a show. Even worse the borage of unnecessary characters errr "real people, celebrities". Top mention includes former <b><i><u>Destiny's Child</u></i></b> singer <b style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;">Latavia Roberson</b>. I think Latavia may have a compelling story to tell about her overcoming addiction, her fall from popularity, her struggle to maintain focus in an industry who may not be entirely checking for her, but she's not wanting to talk about that on the new season of <b><i><u>R&B Divas Atlanta</u></i></b>. Nor does she want to sing in front of her fellow divas! I can understand apprehension, stage fright and self doubt but she DID realize she was signing up for a show about women who sing -- right? Her constant refusal despite loving and even a lot of pushy encouragement from her fellow divas was such a waste of time and vetted energy. Like an angry Tyra Banks, Latavia "we were all routing for you"! Such a bore and a let down.</div>

Nick Minaj – 2, Miguel – 3, Pharreal – 3.</p> <p align="justify">9.  Mariah Carey-Cannon just a lip-synching for her life… too bad she flat-lined!</p> <p align="justify">8.  Why was R. </p> <p align="justify">One of THE most important relationships a child can have is knowing and feeling their father’s love.  It’s natural, it’s intuitive, it’s how we were designed.  When young women do not have positive relationships from their father they tend to make poor decisions, allow men to use them and take them for granted.  The same with boys, without a father, they become lost, they do NOT know what is is like to be a man.  How sad that existence is and I pray that no other young boy or girl has to feel that pain, but inevitably many others will.</p> <p align="justify">DMX needs our support in the meantime.  Now is not the time to bash him, to keep agitating him and his reputation with what is already clear and obvious but he needs our love and prayers.  Drug abuse and alcoholism are mental disorders – DISEASES.   They are engrained in the DNA and can be almost impossible to cope with and conquer.  Many environmental and social factors can contribute to these disorders and unfortunately Earl Simmons, DMX, has had a lifetime of these sad factors.  To show your support, help Iylana Vanzant in her campaign to support him using #SUPPORTDMX on Twitter along with an encouraging thought.  </p> <p align="justify">Mr. Earl Simmons, I challenge you to do better, be better and hold yourself accountable to honor your son in his only request to his father!  How dare you tell him “see you at my funeral”… in that moment something resonated deep to my core that made not judge, nor pity but humanize your experience, knowing that you most certainly need all the love and prayers we can offer up for you. </p> <p align="center"><font style="background-color: #9b00d3">[PICTURE SOURCE: The official “</font><a title="Iyanla Vanzant" href="https://www.facebook.com/DrIyanlaVanzant?ref=stream"><font style="background-color: #9b00d3">Iyanla Vanzant</font></a><font style="background-color: #9b00d3">” Facebook page.]</font></p> Justus takes on...http://www.blogger.com/profile/06886321405352009153noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905867784588064682.post-91575326301763345602013-03-31T22:21:00.001-05:002013-03-31T22:21:12.320-05:00THE TRUTH: Hood Walmart vs. Suburban Walmart<p align="justify">So let me hip you up to a perhaps unknown “truth” – all Walmarts are not created equal!  If you’ve ever had the fortunate displeasure to go to a Walmart in the hood\ghetto, then you know the pure ratchness that is to be expected.  The stark difference are Walmarts in nicer suburban neighborhoods.  You will not only see less people walking around in pajamas, head scarves protecting purple weaves and toddlers still up past Midnight, but also different items in stock at the suburban Walmart.</p> <p align="justify">This weekend as my sister and I were trailing each other one night coming back from going to the movies and eating dinner with a group of her friends in the far off suburbs of Frisco\Plano, for those who don’t know this is just the suburbs of good ole Dallas, Texas, we decided to do our FAVORITE activity – go laugh at the people in Walmart!  The interesting thing was that I already knew about the suburban Walmarts because I used to work far out in that area and frequented them often.  I warned her though, this was going to be an ALL NEW Walmart experience.  The evening started off with us arriving in the Walmart deli which had a much wider variety of select items including an imported cheese section complete with a cheese almanac!  That was the one picture we forgot to take.  So journey with us as we experience the delight of going to a suburban Walmart late night on a weekend!  Ranging from a Passover feed aisle, imported beers, to no aisles with big palettes piled to the ceiling needing to be stocked to the self-check aisle still being open during late night, yes folks in the hood none of this happens! Enjoy!</p> <p align="justify">P.S. – The views in the blog are strictly comedy and intended for your enjoyment!  I am not in agreement or disagreement with having different items for different groups of individuals it makes logical sense from a business perspective.  However, it still is very interesting to see how journey out roughly 10 – 15 miles from your neighborhood can be such an unintentional culture shock at a meeting place that is common to all of us!</p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; width: 410px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:66721397-FF69-4ca6-AEC4-17E6B3208830:afcd03dd-1def-47ed-b19c-b9d4d0852743" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent"><table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 style='outline:none;border-style:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;width:410px;border-collapse:collapse;'><tbody><tr><td style='margin:0px;padding:0px;outline:none;border-style:none;width:auto'><a style="outline:none;border-style:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;" target="_blank" href="https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=36ad7045b08da421&page=play&resid=36AD7045B08DA421!527&type=5&authkey=!AGE1_M_hHVXj1ow&Bsrc=Photomail&Bpub=SDX.Photos"><img style="outline:none;border-style:none;padding:0px;margin:0px;border:0px;background:none;background-image:none;vertical-align:bottom;" alt="View album" title="View album" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-YQKOlKQpUc4/UVj9JjZVa8I/AAAAAAAAAus/mEIKWdKNmKM/Hood%252520Walmart%252520vs.%252520Suburban%252520Walmart%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" /></a><div style='width:410px;text-align:center;overflow:visible;padding:0px;margin:0px;'> <div style='width:410px;overflow:visible;'><a style="text-decoration:none;" href="https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=36ad7045b08da421&page=browse&resid=36AD7045B08DA421!527&type=5&authkey=!AGE1_M_hHVXj1ow&Bsrc=Photomail&Bpub=SDX.Photos" target="_blank"><span style="line-height:1.26em;padding:0px;width:410px;font-size:26pt;font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;" defaultText="Enter album name here">Hood Walmart vs. Suburban Walmart</span></a></div> <div style="text-align:center;padding:9px 0px 0px 0px;margin:0px 0px 0px 0px;font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:8pt;"> <table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 style="text-align:center;width:auto;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;padding:0px;outline:none;border-style:none;border-collapse:collapse;"> <tr> <td style="vertical-align:top;outline:none;border-style:none;margin:0px;padding:6px 12px 6px 0px;"><a href="https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=36ad7045b08da421&page=play&resid=36AD7045B08DA421!527&type=5&authkey=!AGE1_M_hHVXj1ow&Bsrc=Photomail&Bpub=SDX.Photos" border="0" target="_blank" style="font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:8pt;outline:none;border-style:none;text-decoration: none;padding:0px;margin:0px;">VIEW SLIDE SHOW</a></td> <td style="vertical-align:top;outline:none;border-style:none;margin:0px;padding:6px 0px 6px 0px;"><a href="https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=36ad7045b08da421&page=downloadphotos&resid=36AD7045B08DA421!527&type=5&Bsrc=Photomail&Bpub=SDX.Photos&authkey=!AGE1_M_hHVXj1ow" border="0" target="_blank" style="font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:8pt;outline:none;border-style:none;text-decoration: none;padding:0px;margin:0px;">DOWNLOAD ALL</a></td> </tr> </table> </div> </div></td></tr></tbody></table></div> <p align="center"><font style="background-color: #9b00d3">PICTURE SOURCE: All images are copyright © 2013 to the “Justus Takes On…” blog and its moderator.</font></p> Justus takes on...http://www.blogger.com/profile/06886321405352009153noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905867784588064682.post-92193937285742275902013-02-09T18:35:00.002-06:002013-02-09T18:35:56.708-06:00Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj Fued on American Idol<div class="separator" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the past couple of months there has been much talk and hyped up criticism about an unaired argument between new American Idol judges, rapper Nicki Minaj and the legendary singer Mariah Carey. As a fan of both I didn't instantly jump on any ones bandwagon. I did however weigh it out in my mind, what would cause someone to spazz out in such a manner to completely loss control and cause such a scene as Nicki was heard doing via exclusive audio that was released to the media. Now folks we have the official scene from American Idol where the judges were hearing an audition from a young hopeful that spurred into the epic battle between divas. Check out the video below courtesy of WorldStarHipHop.com and see my further thoughts after the jump...</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh82KR9jKd59jBq98m">http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh82KR9jKd59jBq98m</a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So there you have it folks, the scene that caused all the drama! I have to admit, while I love Mariah, I can honestly see why Nicki became so annoyed and agitated. Especially as was mentioned this wasn't the first time this alleged "picking apart contestants" has happened. I felt like Mariah and Randy were being the Mean Girls and ganging up on everything Nicki had to say. Nicki was VERY professional in her critique and even the way she addressed the rest of the judges panel when she had a difference of opinion was still controlled and not ill intentioned either. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The young lady who auditioned seemed to be offended as well by the comments and her whole demeanor changed when she was forced to defend how her voice swayed to Country music tones rather than just being able to show her talent and be judged on her voice and not what she should be doing if she made it through the rest of the competition. Who else better understands that than Nicki who consistently jumps out of the box venturing from Hip Hop to Pop, rapping to singing, from hardcore lyrics to fanciful melodies. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One comment that really annoyed me was Randy superfluous retort "well you know I do have 30 years of music experience" which I took to mean I've been making music longer than you've been alive so shut up, which extremely inappropriate to do in a live audition with a contestant hearing this back and forth talk between them. Also the melodramatic and constant eye rolls and heavy breathing from Mariah every time Nicki attempted to speak was just beyond ridiculous! Mariah we love you but get over yourself please. Randy stop being such a yes man and kissing your friend Mariah's behind instead of being your own person. All these years of American Idol Randy Jackson has NEVER been mean or rude until he was buddied up with his longtime friend Mariah and I just don't like the change. I think Keith Urban had valid points in pinpointing the contestants comments but he made clarifications to make sure she understood why he asked her that series of questions. *sigh* ...is this what American Idol has come to? I think this season show bow out gracefully as the last for the series because it has gone further than downhill than ever expected! </div>

</div><span style="text-align: justify;">...I'm been thinking of the appropriate words to say about the controversy over Keyshia Cole's comments onTwitter about Destiny's Childs Michelle Williams and really there is nothing more to say but the truth. Keyshia please just, just be quiet and return to your seat on the D list! So for those of you know don't know Keyshia posted how Michelle broke her excitement of Beyonce's Superbowl performance in a rather rude and uncalled for way this past weekend. Keyshia who do you think you are? How are you going to critique with no credentials? You need to be worried about what's going wrong with being one of Frankie's child and not what's going on with Destiny's Child! You mad? You upset because Michelle was an invited guest and you was at home watching it? You need your Twitter privileges revoked! I mean of all people to talk about someone's singing and performance ability I mean really Keysh?!</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><span style="text-align: justify;">Michelle may have 99 Problems but PITCH ain't one! While you are sitting here moping around over your failed career, Michelle has been traveling the world doing broadway and special appearances and is an embarking on a national broadway tour starring in Fela! So bitter grapes is it Ms. Cole, I mean Mrs. Gibson because right now ain't nobody checking for no Keyshia Cole anyway! ...I feel so much better now. :). You see Michelle was too classy to even respond but that's why I wear transition lenses so I can read between the lines and still shade the classless! I personally enjoyed seeing the beautiful and talented Kelly Rowland reuniting with Michelle and Bey for one more exclusive performance, it was simply amazing and I screamed when I saw them do Single Ladies! If one person can really mess up your groove that much then something is seriously wrong with you if you didn't enjoy that halftime show!</span><br />

It’s just like Whitney said ironically in her post-humus movie “Sparkle” to her movie daughters, “wasn’t my life enough of a cautionary tale for you?”  …Whitney we will continue to pray for your baby!</p> <p align="justify">[PHOTO CREDIT: (Jason LaVeris, FilmMagic) ]</p> Justus takes on...http://www.blogger.com/profile/06886321405352009153noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905867784588064682.post-69093125580058382482012-12-20T13:08:00.001-06:002012-12-20T14:33:13.442-06:00Justus Takes On: The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Season 5: The Drama,
The Foolery & The Really?!<div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rqqBuFo6LKQ/UNNf9O0er_I/AAAAAAAAAsU/w15ClkAk3Wg/s1600/rhoa.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="101" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rqqBuFo6LKQ/UNNf9O0er_I/AAAAAAAAAsU/w15ClkAk3Wg/s640/rhoa.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">There's an old adage that says, "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder!", well me just say this, there ain't nothing pretty about the newest Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Kenya Moore. Long revered for her beauty, body and even far-reaching her brain, after all she does own her own production company and has made herself into a respectable businesswoman in the entertainment world, but let me just say beauty aside, this woman is truly a Beast! I felt her animalistic attitude, her constant flirtation with other men, even those married to other cast members were not safe, in addition to her psychotic tirades is just TOO MUCH!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">It's a shame, someone as beautiful as Kenya Moore, beautiful, flawless chocolate skin, long sable hair, toned, fit body, features reminiscent of a carved statue, but with the personality of an uncooth hoodrat. I am not impressed by her and if this makes "good TV" then that's just sad. Even worse, when Nene Leakes has become the most civil person on the show, it's just not a good look, point - blank - period.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">On the same token, I feel sorry for Kenya. I mean she has gone through so much in her life -- abandoned and disowned by her Mother, has had several unsuccessful relationships, her spirit seems more battered and broken than anything, so maybe there is some redemption for her, but if she keeps going on this cycle, I am going to have to say NO! Let me just say, I wouldn't have been non the judger if Phaedra Parks would have chunked right in her throat after saying and doing the things she said and did to her husband Apollo Nida, that was just far beyond disrespectful -- SHE TRIED IT! And trust, "getter's" will eventually "get got"! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">See, I know this girl was crazy when she did that psycho spin talking about "Goodnight, ladies!" like she was one of them spinning toys you wind up, and I was done earlier when she first came out in that lounging dress that looked like somebodies grandmother's doily fringed curtain talking about she "Gone with the wind, FABULOUS!". *pulls Kenya's chair out and motions with eyes for her to sit* ...yeah you "Gone with the wind, FABULOUS" just like that Carol Burnett skit when her rendition of Scarlett took down the curtains and made that dress which looked like it was still hanging on the wall. LOL she would have looked better rockin some SHE by Sheree! Kenya, Kenya, Kenya... please get it together! And don't even make me go in about your "relationship" with Walter -- Nene already READ ya'll and she said what we already knew before Walter even went on the radio that this was all a shame and a lie. That's really pathetic, especially someone so beautiful has to go through all that to just say they have "a man"... </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">..Real Housewives of Atlanta, WE GOTS TO DO BETTER! (Side note: Peter's surprise vow renewal was beautiful, that man for real is in live, even went into the Oprah ugly cry too, he kept it together though!)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

...to quote the infamous Busta Rhymes, "Keep your hands where my eyes can see"! ..like literally! Right now I in the process of learning American Sign Language (ASL) and never would have thought that I would appreciate that statement like I do now.<br />
<br />
Learning a new language can be difficult, challenging and yet still very exciting! Especially the motivation for learning it. My reasons, I have deaf friends that I would like to more efficiently communicate with and deeper than that is I have found myself to expand my Bible teaching ministry to individuals who often get pushed aside as unimportant not intelligent.<br />
<br />
If you've ever had the pleasure to really sit down and communicate with a deaf person, you will see they are very perceptive, they have these amazing ideas and views on life that for lack of a better work often falls on deaf ears. Most people do not give people who are deaf, blind or have some type of physically handicap the opportunity to express themselves, and when they do, they miss out on opportunities to "see" and "hear" from those whose opinions not only matter but come from angles they themselves may never have been enlightened to think in such a way.<br />
<br />
Come join me on my journey through ASL on my YouTube channel: MistahJai (<a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/MistahJai">http://www.youtube.com/user/MistahJai</a>), where I host a variety of interesting videos including ASL videos...<br />

Personally I was looking forward to my first battle scene and it didn’t take too long for me to manage the courage to approach someone.  To my surprise I was only one of maybe 3 or 4 Nightwing’s who attended the convention, and not to toot my own horn but I was told on more than a few occasions I was the best Nightwing at the convention.  My motivation was not that all, it was really to show my fandom for my character and to show that even us portly guys can rock spandex and lycra and not look a complete village idiot!</p> <p align="justify"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ojAomJSx3w0/UITQEGzr5SI/AAAAAAAAArE/5DpWN4zQNsU/s1600-h/IMG1442%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG1442" border="0" alt="IMG1442" align="left" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-viOBHwHdUU0/UITQE32l8mI/AAAAAAAAArM/SuNYAKQZpJ0/IMG1442_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244" /></a>Along with meeting other conventioneers were the opportunity to meet comic legends, artists, writers and innovators.  The highlight of this convention was of course the legendary Stan Lee.  Unfortunately I spent close to $200 for my outfit, so my budget was already tapped, so I wasn’t able to pay the meager $50 fee for a photo op\autograph from Mr. Lee.  I would like to add, he was actually one of the lowest price out of all the convention celebrities, which is crazy because its freakin’ Stan Lee, the father of everything awesome there is in the Marvel Universe!!!  That just shows how gracious he is to his fans!  For a lot of celebrities, both mainstream popular and known exclusively to cult followings, these conventions are opportunities to make a lot of money! On average the fee for a celebrity photo or autograph is roughly $75 – $100.  Just think, the lines are at least 200 people deep at a minimum, could bring in $20,000, and that’s still a low figure!  And that’s just at one convention, on one weekend! <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-UQ_HM8tzHw0/UITQGLUKnUI/AAAAAAAAArU/4Zigg49I1YA/s1600-h/557797_286316104821062_1428554128_n%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="557797_286316104821062_1428554128_n" border="0" alt="557797_286316104821062_1428554128_n" align="right" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-CrOzMykgx5M/UITQGjuKLoI/AAAAAAAAArc/BpQ1HGrTB_M/557797_286316104821062_1428554128_n_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="244" /></a></p> <p align="justify">There’s also opportunities to market and sell nostalgic, current and even some trash-to-treasure junk items to eager fans, which I happily made use of as I was able to score some very nice comics whose value may not be high but had awesome covers and also opened the opportunity to read the original storylines of some of my personal favorites.  All-in-all my first ComicCon was an awesome experience.  It was also  kinda funny, it sort of felt like preparing for a wedding, running around to find the perfect outfit, making sure all your invited guests were going to make it and then the big day!  LOL, ok let me wake up from my nerd fantasy speech and conclude by saying, ComicCon 2013 here I come! And just wait and see what I have in store next year – oh the decisions, decisions…</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-bpVXTcBkQ8M/UITQIzqdEjI/AAAAAAAAArk/mUa8aqr_cMs/s1600-h/attachments_2012_10_20%25255B18%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="attachments_2012_10_20" border="0" alt="attachments_2012_10_20" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-eSy8JwfhHI4/UITQLyNwoMI/AAAAAAAAArs/1L5nKOyBg8c/attachments_2012_10_20_thumb%25255B12%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="644" height="364" /></a></p> Justus takes on...http://www.blogger.com/profile/06886321405352009153noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905867784588064682.post-26350497630824945692012-04-13T13:39:00.001-05:002012-04-13T13:42:43.452-05:00Top 12 Most Overrated Things in 2012!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BRH0RSED7x8/T4hxZUcZYTI/AAAAAAAAApQ/l8tHoD64-YA/s1600/cooltext613952245.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="28" qda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BRH0RSED7x8/T4hxZUcZYTI/AAAAAAAAApQ/l8tHoD64-YA/s400/cooltext613952245.png" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>12. <strong><u>"Adele"</u></strong>... is it just me or are we all ready for Adele to fall in love again? Or do we just want to stop hearing the same 3 songs from her hit album "21" played to death? Perhaps a little of both.<br />
<br />
11. <u><strong>"People who take 2 days to take their turn in Words with Friends"</strong></u>... its just RUDE and UNNACTRATIVE? ...and no I am not bitter!<br />
<br />
10. <u><strong>"Flash Mobs"</strong></u>... Flash mobs are no longer flash mobs now that people are expecting them to unexpectantly happen!<br />
<br />
9. <strong><u>"Jennifer Lopez' Love Life"</u></strong>... or as I call it the greatest novela ever told! Side note, she did manage to get some really pretty babies out of the whole deal.<br />
<br />
8. <strong><u>"American Idol"</u></strong>... it is just not the same anymore! Every since Simon and Paula left it no longer seems authentic! J-Lo is great, but she serves no purpose and Steven Tyler seems intoxicated and/or sedated at most and Randy is well... Randy! And the contestantss are nowhere nearly as good anymore! After Jennifer Hudson was booted off too early, the show was officially a wrap in my mind!<br />
<br />
7. <u><strong>"Chelsea Lately"</strong></u>... it was assumed her on-screen portrayel was an act, but after she dissed the great Joan Rivers and purposely refused to return a simple greeting to the legend, I was no longer amused!<br />
<br />
6. <strong><u>"Glee"</u></strong>... it's officially a wrap! I have neither the time or desire to go into detail! Saving grace the performaces by Ms. Amber Riley, she showed up and showed out doing "Ain't No Way" and "I Will Always Love You" this season!<br />
<br />
5. <strong><u>"Anyone named and/or married to a Kardashian"</u></strong>... insert witty comment here!<br />
<br />
4. <strong><u>"Beyonce and Blue Ivy Carter"</u></strong>... I love Beyonce and despite how I feel towards her pregnancy and newborn baby, I just want all the insanity to end! (Editors note: Yes, I did reserve her for #4 her favorite number.)<br />
<br />
3. <strong><u>Please Leave Chris Brown Alone</u></strong>... as a matter of fact Rihanna also... these two trainwrecks were made for each other eiths as lovers or friends!'<br />
<br />
2. <strong><u>Why was Titanic re-released in theaters?!?!</u></strong> Who wants to see dumb Rose survive and crack Jack's loving hand so she can blow the whistle?!?! The only redhead I'm looking forward to seeing is Scarlett Johannson in The Avengers! End of discussion!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">1. <strong><u>"Travoning"</u></strong>... I find it personally sickening to see people sensationalize this young man's death. It's one thing to have an opinion about a heinous crime but to mock him in pics for laughs, its just INHUMANE!</div>Justus takes on...http://www.blogger.com/profile/06886321405352009153noreply@blogger.com1
